But damn does it look good, and a 450HP 600Lb-ft Plug in hybrid is nothing to scoff a t. It’s one of the very few crossover/SUVs that I really like inside and out.

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

The top trim is the Black Label and it comes with “Themes” as shown.

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

The base RWD model with 400HP 400 Lb/ft itself is actually pretty loaded with safety and tech for $51,100. AWD adds $2500 and Destination is $1095. Available starting Summer. If it has typical Lincoln resale values this would be a fantastic choice used.

Holy crap. I've never spent more than $19K USD on a car. Even if you added the MSRP of the CX3, Forte and Fiesta together I'd still not have enough money

I kind of thought the first generation Aviator was stupid. I was like, Why wouldn’t you just get a nice Explorer? But wow, that thing looks amazing.

I still don’t want one, but it looks nice.

Wait, did you say NINETY ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS FOR AN AVIATOR

You can c onfigure a Navigator L Black Label for over $100K and you’ll know how poor you are and/or how expensive new Lincoln vehicles are.

I wonder what these will do on the wholesale side....every Lincoln product seems to suck excluding the recent top trim Navigator’s.

Mine was $88,895

Still, that’s impressive.

I remember seeing a V10 diesel Touraeg, years ago. I went online and discovered - much like the aviator above - the top-end V10 diesel with all the options was nearly twice the base model starting price. I was like, “wow you could have TWO WHOLE CARS, or the V10.” Yeah I still wanted the V10.

though the non-Black-Label interior is still pretty nice.  I’m not sold on having the SYNC voice button up near the top of the steering wheel like that, though.

I have a feeling this one wont suck.  All new RWD platform and they’re really going to town with the features and interior.

I just built one the way I’d like to have it - Reserve, 3.0TT, AWD, sunroof and a handful of other options, with a MSRP of about $65k.  Steep, but it looks like a really nice rig.

91k is crazy for an Aviator, but I gotta think that most actual transactions will be in the 60s, maybe even 70s , which is still pretty high.

I can’t go there right now, but if I can configure a very nice one for under $ 60k, it could be attractive in a few years.

Sure is a pretty explorer.  3 years off lease and then they price might be reasonable for a tatted up explorer.

I wonder how much longer things like SYNC will be relevant with the advent of apple carplay and android auto. They still need some development to really take over infotainment, but they are well on their way.

I waiting the 5 years to see what prices will come down to. Although if Audi brings the A6 Avant back, that’s going to also be a consideration for me 5-6 years from now.

CarPlay is OK, but you keep Android Auto far away from my dashboard.

besides, systems like SYNC also handle the climate controls, and plenty of aspects of that have regulatory (FMVSS) requirements.  Not necessarily something companies like Apple want to be shackled with.

I think Lincoln is doing this American Luxury thing right. Not many will buy the coach door Continental, but they’ll remember this is the company that made the coach door Continental when they want to buy an SUV. And when they see the new Aviator and Navigator, they’ll pull out their wallets.

Yeah, I’m thinking more-so that the infotainment functions of things like SYNC will be quite obsolete soon.

You don’t like Android Auto? I personally like it very much. What’s your gripe with it?

Although a loaded Explorer wouldn’t be a bad compromise to this, it’s evident that they did a little more than put some fancy clothes on the Explorer. Finally, they are starting to understand there’s more to a luxury car than smarting up your basic ones. I have high hopes for Lincoln...but I thought Cadillac was on the up at one point too.

I think the MXZ (whichever is Taurus based) is a hell of a bargain used coming in around $20k and under. I work on enough Taurus’ to say that they do feel different inside aside from layout , more so than in previous years. I can tell from photos that this era of Lincoln knows they need to feel more bespoke. Cadillac, for all it’s woes, has long been better at this than Lincoln as their interiors (starting around the 90's) didn’t feel so much like a Chevy with leather seats.

I’m eager to get in the newer Lincoln stuff so I can get a feel for the new interiors. One of my accounts is a Ford account. I fully expect the owner to have an Aviator within the year so I’ll have the opportunity for extended seat time once he does. I’m surprised he hasn’t had a Continental as he usually drives an MKZ or a loaded Explorer. I suspect the Continental is a harder sell in the area the dealer is...small town- esque .
